"I’ve lost around 15 lbs, and am feeling really healthy, energetic, and strong. My sleep has improved, as has my digestion."
Being diagnosed with IBS has you believe that it is a condition or a disease that develops out of nowhere.
The truth is, IBS is a group of symptoms that pop up from several different factors.
Because most people tackle IBS like a condition, they look for just one thing that will fix it:
And these might help, to a degree, but even with these you are still struggling with gas, bloating, cramping or bowel issues, aren't you?
This is because you aren't addressing the root causes of your IBS symptoms.
Yes, causes! There are several different reasons that IBS develops and you must address each one before finding true relief from IBS.
There are trillions of microbes that collectively make up the gut microbiome. In a healthy gut, the microbiome is robust and diverse in numbers. In the IBS gut, there has been a shift in the microbes where the beneficial ones are lacking in numbers (or have disappeared entirely!) and the bad ones are thriving. This results in lots of gas, bloating and visceral hypersensitivity of the gut.
A large part of the immune system resides in the gut. Not just for fighting colds and flues, the immune system can release antibodies and inflammation in response to foods that we eat. In the IBS gut, there can be immune system over activation and food sensitivities pop up. This means that every day, normal foods that we eat can be driving chronic inflammation in the body. Inflammation = puffiness, water retention and bloating.
The gut has it's own nervous system that is responsible for digestion and motility (the speed at which food and stool moves through the gut). When this nervous system is disrupted- often through stress and lack of quality sleep- motility goes either too fast or too slow. Gut symptoms that can pop up include indigestion, nausea, constipation or diarrhea.
Many people with IBS are lacking in digestive strength; meaning, they don't release enough digestive juices when eating. If you aren't breaking down food sufficiently, any food is going to make you gassy and bloated. A sure sign you aren't breaking down food? You'll see it in your poop! Other gut symptoms of low digestive strength are heartburn and indigestion.
I’m know as The IBS Girl because I’ve helped hundreds of people break free from the pain and discomfort of IBS.
As a Holistic Nutritionist who is thriving with IBS it is my life's mission help those who feeling lost frustrated and unsupported in their journey to regain their power back from chronic gut issues.
Why? Because that was me.
Like you, I needlessly suffered for years until I discovered how to not only manage IBS but thrive.
If you feel like you’ve been wasting time, money and energy on IBS ‘solutions’ that don’t work then my Mentorship is for you.
My Mentorship takes the guesswork out of eating for IBS so you can navigate life and food-driven social situations with ease with an understanding about why you have IBS symptoms, in the first place.
There are two things that my clients say when they come to me looking for help:
“I’ve tried everything and nothing makes me feel better.”
“I’ve read so many different things online that I don’t know where to start.”
In both scenarios, they’ve fallen into the Google Trap.
The Google Trap is having too much information and not implementing it in a strategic way that’s tailored to you, specifically.
Most people turn to the internet for solutions to manage their IBS because there’s so few practitioners who truly understand why IBS develops and how to manage it.
But the Google Trap wastes a lot of time and money because the information you get online doesn’t tell you what, how and when to implement it.
Seriously, how many supplements do you have sitting in the cupboard, half empty and building of dust?
How many foods have you tried to eliminate, without much success?
My M.I.N.D. Your IBS Mentorship will guide you out of the Google Trap.
"...Jessica has helped me completely change my life...I haven't felt this relief for years, and I am so, so grateful to have found Jessica...and to have had the pleasure to work with her. She is excellent at what she does."
"Choosing Jessica to support me in healing my gut was the best decision I could have made...I have gotten much more in tune with my body and had a myriad of debilitating symptoms reduce or go away completely."
"My stomach issues have gotten so much better. I am not nearly as uncomfortable as I used to be."
"For 3 years no one could figure out what was wrong and you did in 5 minutes of chatting with me. im beyond grateful for the help and mindset shift you helped implicate in regards to food and really being aware of what im eating, and how im eating and what to do in certain situations."
"Working with Jessica was a joy. She is kind, incredibly knowledgeable, non-judgemental and empathetic. My IBS symptoms are a *lot* more manageable now…and I know that if they ever flare up again, she would be there as a great resource and support."
"I had an amazing first consultation with Jessica...and she is such an extraordinary person overall. She really took the time to listen, to really personalize her recommendations and what's most important in my opinion, is she showed a lot of passion and a great deal of empathy and care to genuinely wanting to help. Her approach is unlike a lot of other health professionals' recommendations (in a really good way)."
The Mentorship starts with a five session commitment. The initial session is one hour long. The remaining four follow-up sessions are a minimum of 30 minutes. These sessions are spaced out every one to two weeks, or longer, depending on your symptoms and progress. Between sessions you have access to me via email or messaging for questions, trouble shooting, meal ideas or pep talks. After these five sessions are used you may book follow-up sessions individually.
Here are a few examples of what you will learn during our time together. This is just the minimum that we will cover during our time together; LOTS of different things will come up. Flare management, travelling, socialising, sleep, stress, menstrual cycle, potential gut infections….the topics are endless!
Each person has their own unique tolerances when it comes to food. Using your food & symptom journal, I will pinpoint what foods are-and aren't- working for you
Each session we build upon your toolbox of symptom management tools. These may include nutrition, supplement or lifestyle strategies.
As your symptoms reduce or go away, we adapt your recommendations so that you can enjoy more freedom without causing any flares. I spend lots of time here teaching you about how to, well, carry on without me, expand your diet and eat long term for healthy digestion.
I know how they can control your life. That is why I am dedicated to your success.
Working with me is far more than just handing you information you can find online: I will coach you through any barriers that have stopped you in the past~ mind, nutrition, lifestyle~ with kindness and compassion.
This means I can only take a limited number of clients at one time in order to give you the attention and guidance that you need to succeed.
