Your IBS diagnosis has lied to you

Being diagnosed with IBS has you believe that it is a condition or a disease that develops out of nowhere.
The truth is, IBS is a group of symptoms that pop up from several different factors.

Because most people tackle IBS like a condition, they look for just one thing that will fix it:

And these might help, to a degree, but even with these you are still struggling with gas, bloating, cramping or bowel issues, aren't you?

This is because you aren't addressing the root causes of your IBS symptoms.

Yes, causes! There are several different reasons that IBS develops and you must address each one before finding true relief from IBS.

The Microbiome

There are trillions of microbes that collectively make up the gut microbiome. In a healthy gut, the microbiome is robust and diverse in numbers. In the IBS gut, there has been a shift in the microbes where the beneficial ones are lacking in numbers (or have disappeared entirely!) and the bad ones are thriving. This results in lots of gas, bloating and visceral hypersensitivity of the gut.


The Immune System

A large part of the immune system resides in the gut. Not just for fighting colds and flues, the immune system can release antibodies and inflammation in response to foods that we eat. In the IBS gut, there can be immune system over activation and food sensitivities pop up. This means that every day, normal foods that we eat can be driving chronic inflammation in the body. Inflammation = puffiness, water retention and bloating.


The Nervous System

The gut has it's own nervous system that is responsible for digestion and motility (the speed at which food and stool moves through the gut). When this nervous system is disrupted- often through stress and lack of quality sleep- motility goes either too fast or too slow. Gut symptoms that can pop up include indigestion, nausea, constipation or diarrhea.



Many people with IBS are lacking in digestive strength; meaning, they don't release enough digestive juices when eating. If you aren't breaking down food sufficiently, any food is going to make you gassy and bloated. A sure sign you aren't breaking down food? You'll see it in your poop! Other gut symptoms of low digestive strength are heartburn and indigestion.

Here's How the Mentorship Works

The Mentorship starts with a five session commitment. The initial session is one hour long. The remaining four follow-up sessions are a minimum of 30 minutes. These sessions are spaced out every one to two weeks, or longer, depending on your symptoms and progress. Between sessions you have access to me via email or messaging for questions, trouble shooting, meal ideas or pep talks. After these five sessions are used you may book follow-up sessions individually.

Here are a few examples of what you will learn during our time together. This is just the minimum that we will cover during our time together; LOTS of different things will come up. Flare management, travelling, socialising, sleep, stress, menstrual cycle, potential gut infections….the topics are endless!

Your own unique safe foods & trigger foods

Each person has their own unique tolerances when it comes to food. Using your food & symptom journal, I will pinpoint what foods are-and aren't- working for you

Symptom management

Each session we build upon your toolbox of symptom management tools. These may include nutrition, supplement or lifestyle strategies.

Expanding your diet

As your symptoms reduce or go away, we adapt your recommendations so that you can enjoy more freedom without causing any flares. I spend lots of time here teaching you about how to, well, carry on without me, expand your diet and eat long term for healthy digestion.

Working with me is far more than just handing you information you can find online: I will coach you through any barriers that have stopped you in the past~ mind, nutrition, lifestyle~ with kindness and compassion.

This means I can only take a limited number of clients at one time in order to give you the attention and guidance that you need to succeed.



Do I have to be diagnosed with IBS to join the Mentorship?

No, you do not have to be diagnosed with IBS to join. I work with anyone who is experiencing any type of gastrointestinal symptoms or conditions. Some examples: bloating, indigestion, SIBO, yeast overgrowth, bacterial infection, constipation and/or diarrhea, IBD.

Will I need any blood work or diagnostic testing?

No- this is not a requirement but I may refer you to a local medical practitioner if I feel you may benefit from it.

Does working with you replace the need to see my doctor or specialist?

No. I am not a doctor and I do not diagnose. I highly recommend having a doctor or gastrointestinal specialist on your health team.

I am working with another practitioner for my condition/symptoms. Can you work with them?

Yes! I am a huge proponent of integrative health care. All practitioners- Naturopaths, Medical Doctors, Chiropractic doctors, Acupuncturists, Nutritionists- play unique and different roles in your care.

How do I attend my sessions?

All appointments are conducted via Zoom. You do not need to have your video on if you prefer not to.

What is the cost?

The cost for the initial five session commitment is $79 CAD/session ($399 total) paid upon enrolment. Payment plans are available.
